The Wild Country Ropeman 1 is a compact mechanical ascender for ropes over 10mm. A benchmark mountain tool for more than a decade, it's now lighter and stronger thanks to hot-forged sideplates.

The hot-forged 7075 T6 alloy cam and sprung sideplates make it quick to place on the rope, even one-handed, and the flat cam profile releases cleanly under light loads so moving it up the rope never feels like a fight. A high-strength stainless steel axle and cable leash finish it off, and it's certified to CE EN567 and UIAA 126.

Choose it for self-rescue, prusik back-up and rope ascending wherever a small, dependable rope clamp earns its place on the harness.
