Tendon Ambition 9.8mm Single Rope (Standard) - Durable Workhorse

The Tendon Ambition 9.8mm Single Rope (Standard) is a durable, high-fall single rope for climbers starting out or climbing often. The thicker diameter and robust sheath make it a fair-priced first rope that will take a lot of lowering, falls and abseiling.

At 9.8mm and 64 g/m the Ambition is not a light rope, but that is the point: the thicker braid construction increases lifespan, and the rope feeds through a belay device slowly and predictably, which helps new belayers stay in control. A 9 UIAA fall rating, 35% dynamic elongation and very low 0.05% sheath slippage mean it absorbs falls well and keeps its structure session after session. Choose the standard Ambition 9.8 if you mostly climb indoors or in dry conditions and want the most rope for your money. Yellow, in 30m to 70m lengths.

Why you'll love it

• Durable construction – thicker braid built to handle heavy use
• High fall rating – 9 UIAA falls for repeated climbing sessions
• Easy handling – 9.8mm diameter adds confidence and control
• Controlled belay feel – slower, more manageable rope feed
• Fair value – an ideal entry into climbing ropes
