The Pertex® Shield 30D ripstop upper is fully waterproof and breathable, keeping debris, moisture and snow out without slowing you down, and a 420D PU-coated lower handles the scuffs. A replaceable Hypalon instep strap, reinforced lace hooks, hook-and-loop front and an elastic heel with drawcord top keep them low-profile and in place, and they pack down small enough to stash in any pack. Choose the Helium when you're covering distance fast and a heavier gaiter would stay at home.
