Blue Ice Akila LT Hammer Ice Axe - Packable Technical Piolet (43cm)

The Blue Ice Akila LT Hammer Ice Axe is a shortened, 43cm version of the Akila built for ski mountaineering and fast-moving alpine objectives. It packs away easily yet keeps the fully technical head, with a hammer for placing protection.

The curved, bevelled aluminium shaft improves clearance on steep terrain, and the integrated tech pommel and bi-textured grip give secure, precise handling. The diagonal-cut shaft base works as a spike, there's a leash attachment hole, and components are removable so you can strip it down. Choose the LT Hammer for ski mountaineering and glacier travel with steeper sections, or carry it as a third tool on summer alpine ascents.

Why you'll love it

• Same head as the full Akila – technical steel head, no compromise
• Hammer head – ideal for placing protection
