Carefully shaped internal surfaces keep rope movement predictable whether you are belaying a leader or abseiling off, and at 45g for the device and 131g for the complete set it barely registers on your harness. The orange finish makes it easy to spot on a busy rack. We would put this set in the hands of a first-time belayer as happily as a trad climber who wants a light, no-fuss device.

Why you'll love it

Adaptable friction – two rope positions to suit rope diameter, conditions and braking feel

Low rack weight – 45g device, 131g complete set

Smooth handling – shaped internal surfaces for predictable rope movement

Ready to climb – device and Shadow HMS screwgate matched as a set

Good to know

Belay and abseil device with two friction modes

Half/twin rope range: 7.3-9.2mm; single rope range: 8.5-11mm

Supplied with a Shadow HMS screwgate carabiner

Colour: Orange

Stock code: A1165OR/682

Use only with compatible ropes and locking connectors, and read and follow the DMM instructions before use

Who it's for

Beginners through to experienced climbers who want a light, simple belay and abseil set for indoor and outdoor rope climbing, sport and trad belaying.
